Bahrain's development plans include several mega projects.

Bahrain plans development projects worth $24.5bn

MANAMA, March 15, 2015

Bahrain is set to benefit from future development projects worth $24.5 billion, a report said.

The coming period will focus on industrial, investment, tourism and entrepreneurship projects worth $17 billion to be implemented by government holding companies and the private sector, according to our sister publication the Gulf Daily News, which cited a report issued by the office of Deputy King Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Projects under the GCC Development Programme amount to $7.5 billion, covering health, education, infrastructure, housing and social services.

Mega projects to be undertaken by the government sector include Alba’s sixth potline expansion, Hawar Island’s tourism and Al Fateh corniche development projects.

Diyar Al Muharraq, Durrat Marina,Marsa Al Seef, Water Garden and Dilmunia projects, among others, will be taken up by private companies, the report said. – TradeArabia News Service
