Project work...to be carried out in one go and not in phases

Bahrain’s Marina Club overhaul postponed

MANAMA, March 9, 2015

More time will be required for a major overhaul of the Marina Club in Manama, Bahrain, it has been revealed.

The work on the project, which is set to include a five-star hotel, apartments, waterfront villas, a shopping mall, marina and restaurants over a 150,000-sq-m property, was originally scheduled for completion by 2019, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

However, officials from property developers Amlak, who are spearheading the project as a subsidiary of the Social Insurance Organisation, said yesterday that they were now aiming for a completion date of 2020.

"Work will be carried out in one go and not in different phases, which means a rigorous approach if we are going to complete the project by 2020," said Amlak projects and facility management director Waleed Janahi.

Owners of boats and yachts moored at the club have been reminded that they have until April 30 to find a new place to dock, he added. - TradeArabia News Service
