The overall cost of the planned GCC railway infrastructure is estimated to top $15.4 billion, according to a report.
“The strategic artery will link Kuwait and Bahrain through Dammam, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, via the planned King Hamad Causeway,” reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication, citing the Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Kamal Ahmed.
The minister was giving response to a question by MP Adel Asoomi.
Another section will link Dammam to Qatar and a third section will link Saudi Arabia to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain in the UAE before reaching the terminal in Sohar, Oman, he stated.
Qatar and Bahrain will be linked by the planned multi-million friendship causeway, he added.
