Ranked by World Architecture 100, SSH was recognised as #3 amongst the top ten architecture practices in the Middle East, while on a global scale it has topped the charts at #1 for culture and #8 for heritage architecture, followed by #3 in infrastructure and construction management, said a statement from the company.

The firm, which was founded in 1961, maintains offices in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE, Iraq, Bahrain, Algeria, South Africa and London.

It has completed more than 1,000 projects and is ranked third in the Middle East by World Architecture Magazine and amongst the top 100 architects in the world, the statement added.

On the ranking, CEO Bob Hope, said "This is a phenomenal achievement for the whole SSH family who work so hard towards its continuous success. It is also reassuring to our clients and international partners who increasingly place their trust in us to know they are in safe hands with one of the best firms in the industry."

"SSH has expanded drastically over the past three years, as talented professional from internationally-recognised practices joined the group, he added.

Now in its 22nd year running, BD Online World Architecture 100 survey gathered data from over 1,400 practices to compile this year’s top 100 firms worldwide, making it a definite guide into today’s leaders in the industry.

The survey, conducted by BD Online, collects data such as the number of architects employed, signature projects, fee income and plans for 2015. Over the years it has become a significant point of reference for international research, often used in business publications, such as the Financial Times.

According to Hope, SSH's multifaceted practice includes architecture, urban design and planning, structural and civil engineering, MEP/ building services, interior design, highway engineering, storm water drainage, utility design, sanitary engineering, marine engineering and district cooling in addition to project management and construction supervision services.

"We have deep experience in a vast range of building types, from residential and commercial, retail and leisure, healthcare, education, high-rise, convention and cultural centres, to theatres and opera houses," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
