A total of 23 parks and public squares have been built in Dammam, Saudi Arabia during the past year, as part of an environmental drive launched by the Dammam Municipality, a report said.

A number of public parks have been constructed in Dammam, Dhahran and Al Khobar, Khalid bin Abdullah Bossbet, general manager of the Department for Parks, Afforestation and Environment in the Eastern Province, was quoted as saying by Arab News.

New neighbourhoods such as Dana Park in Dhahran, Roses Park in Taibah and Cloves Park in Al Manar, among others also witnessed the construction of new parks as part of the public parks programme of the Dammam Municipality, he added.
