Dr Al Awadhi joins KHCB officials at the signing ceremony.

Khaleeji to fund Bahrain hospital construction

MANAMA, October 13, 2014

Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of the leading Islamic Banks in Bahrain, has signed a corporate financing deal for the construction of a new specialist hospital in the kingdom.

As per the deal, KHCB will provide about BD7 million ($18.2 million) for the construction of The Al Salam Specialist Hospital, which will come up at Riffa.

The signing took place at Orthocare in the presence of Khaleeji Commercial Bank CEO Khalil Ismaeel Al Meer, the bank’s corporate banking team, and the hospital shareholders Dr Jamal Saleh and Dr Abdul Majeed Al Awadhi.

The hospital is set to provide healthcare services of the highest quality spanning across multiple specialties through a team of highly experienced and renowned local and international doctors.

"The opportunity to finance the construction of Al Salam Specialist Hospital gives us immense pleasure as the medical sector is the noblest of sectors in a nation and to be a part of this honourable venture shows our commitment towards Bahrain," stated Al Meer.

The bank had earlier ventured into a number of significant deals with other private sector establishments as an effort to contribute to the economy of Bahrain, he added.

Dr Saleh said KHCB was the preferred choice when it came to financing the construction of Al Salam Specialist Hospital due to its long and distinguished history of previous projects financed.

Al Salam Specialist Hospital, he stated, aims to set the high global standards and become one of the most premier hospitals in the country and the Middle East.-TradeArabia News Service
