New road to provide smooth traffic flow for JLT and Jumeirah
residents.

RTA completes major Dubai road project

DUBAI, October 9, 2014

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed a key sector of the Parallel Roads Improvement Project with the conclusion of construction works on Qarn Al Sahbkha Road in the UAE emirate.

Qarn Al Sahbkha Road, which links the Sheikh Zayed Road at the Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT) junction with the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near Al Houdh Roundabout, will be opened on Friday (October 10).

This will be followed by the opening of the remaining bridges at the intersection of Al Saada Road with Qarn Al Sahbkha Road.

Commenting on the project's completion, Maitha bin Udai, the chief executive of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency, said: "The opening of Qarn Al Sahbkha Road will provide smooth traffic flow for the JLT, Jumeirah Island and Jumeirah Park by linking them with the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

“Moreover, the traffic is set to flow smoothly from the Sheikh Zayed Road towards these communities, thanks to a key tunnel opened last March,” she stated.

The second phase of the project will be opened by the end of March next year under which Al Saadah Road will be linked with Ibn Battuta Mall district, said Maitha.

"Some bridges and roads in the neighbourhood, which mainly serve the JLT, Gardens, Furjan, Jumeirah Islands, and Jumeirah Park by linking them with the Sheikh Zayed Road and the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, will also be completed," she added.-TradeArabia News Service
