$2.54 trillion worth of construction projects
are at various stages in the GCC region

Project management software in spotlight

DUBAI, September 18, 2014

How a construction organisation can achieve pro-active control of cost and value to maximise the performance of their projects will be highlighted at two upcoming events in Dubai, UAE, and Doha, Qatar.

Causeway Technologies, a leading supplier of software for the built environment, will organise the half-day Software Showcase in Dubai on October 14 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers and in Doha on October 15 at Oryx Rotana Hotel.

The events will put particular emphasis on the requirements of those contractors and joint ventures that are mobilising projects, and how technology can support successful and profitable project delivery.

With some $2.54 trillion worth of construction projects at various stages in the GCC region, there is increasing pressure on those who are required to deliver the projects. In particular, with many of these projects moving into the construction phase, efficient cost control and commercial management will be critical, said Causeway COO James Atkinson.

“Commercial management is a critical discipline and it is no longer viable to manage project performance with unstructured spreadsheets, isolated databases or manual systems. Nor are ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems readily transportable to the construction sector,” he added.

Each of the Showcases will open with a presentation from Meed Projects, providing an overview of the GCC landscape and examining the regional impact of both the Dubai Expo 2020 and Qatar World Cup 2022.

They will then go on to demonstrate how a construction organisation can achieve pro-active control of cost and value to maximise the performance of their projects, using Causeway’s leading cost and programme management software - Causeway Project Accounting. – TradeArabia News Service
