Parsons, a leading engineering company, has won a deal to perform the infrastructure design services for the Dubai Canal project from the Road and Transport Authority (RTA), said a report.

The Dubai Water Canal, which has been planned to be a major tourist destination, will include a new shopping centre, hotels and restaurants, besides luxury housing and cycling paths, said the Zawya report.

It will provide new areas for public places and facilities, as well as private marinas for boats and a new trade entrée at the canal’s entrance, it said.

" Parsons has been working with RTA for many years, and we look forward to continuing to be RTA's partner of choice for this landmark project," Hamed Zaghw, President of Parsons International Limited, was quoted as saying.

On completion, the project will add six km to the Dubai waterfront and will attract many visitors, the report added.
