Dubai port renovations under way

Renovation work on Dubai’s fishing ports and harbours to preserve the traditional profession are afoot, revealed a meeting held at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) office in Dubai recently.

The move follows the directives of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a Wam report said.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the rehabilitation, establishment of facilities and ports for fishermen in the areas of Jumeirah and Hamriyah while maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the shores of Dubai. They also discussed about organising the process of mooring boats at ports and locations close to them, and providing necessary support for fishermen in addition to facilitating their work, it said.

The completion of the project is due within three months. – TradeArabia News Service
