Hill to manage $1bn Oman highway

Muscat, August 11, 2014

US-based Hill International, a leader in managing construction risk, has received a three-year RO1.5 million ($4 million) contract from Oman to provide project management services for the construction of sections 1 and 2 of a six-lane highway.

The RO 432 million ($1.1 billion) Bidbid - Sur Road project includes nine interchanges, two underpasses, two overpasses, associated retaining wall structures and approximately 171 reinforced concrete culverts. The 247-km (154-mile) highway will connect the cities of Bidbid and Sur.

"We are honoured to be part of this major infrastructure project," said Mohammed Al Rais, senior vice president and managing director (Middle East) for Hill's Project Management Group. "The positive impact of the highway on commerce and tourism will benefit all of Oman.”
