Reem Mall work to start early next year

Abu Dhabi, August 5, 2014

Construction work on The Reem Mall in Abu Dhabi is set to begin at the start of next year.

The project is to go through a single-phase construction period and will take around three years to complete, officially opening in 2018, a statement said.

An investment of around $1 billion will be put into The Reem Mall project and will include around 450 stores, 85 restaurants, and a range of entertainment features across three floors, it said.

National Real Estate Company (NREC), which is developing the mall, has appointed Stuart Ingram as director of development for project.

With more than 20 years of experience in international real estate development projects and having won five international construction awards, Ingram will be responsible for all aspects of development and delivery of the project.

“I’m excited to be joining NREC and managing the delivery of this project. The mall will be of a world-class standard, perfectly located in the new heart of Abu Dhabi. The retail and tourism industries are rapidly growing in the UAE capital and a retail centre of this calibre will be arriving at just the right time for the city,” Ingram said.

The Mall will introduce some completely new brands to the Middle East and will also contain some of the largest hypermarket space in the region, said a statement. – TradeArabia News Service
