More bridges, tunnels planned in Jeddah

Jeddah, May 29, 2014

Jeddah is in the process of implementing several infrastructure projects and the city will soon have many bridges and tunnels to ease traffic flow, the Jeddah Municipality spokesman was quoted as saying.

"Bids to implement these projects have been referred to giant domestic and international construction firms," Mohammed Al-Buqami was quoted as saying in an Arab News report.

One of the projects currently being implemented is between the King Abdulaziz Street and Ismail Abu Dawood intersection, he said.

Two other important projects are taking place between Prince Majid and Makkah streets and at the intersection between Palestine and Andalus streets, he said in the report.
