Bahrain Bay tower project on track

Manama, April 30, 2014

Bahrain Bay, a major master-planned mixed-use waterfront community, has announced the completion of a key phase of the United Tower development.

The United Tower will house the five-star Wyndham Grand Collection Manama hotel over 14 floors, with the rest available as corporate office space, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

External construction work is complete with the fixing of the last piece of the faade panel, the project developer Co-operation Investment House's managing director Ahmed Al Qaed said.

Having a waterfront location within Bahrain Bay, the 50-storey tower is designed as a twirling structure rising from an octagonal floor plate, twisting counterclockwise and offering 360 degree views of the bay and the corniche.

"The twisting counterclockwise structure involved flawless planning and methodical execution," he said.

With the external faade now complete, the United Tower will undergo extensive internal fit outs. This will be followed by landscaping works around the building.

"The United Tower is a unique structure standing out as an architectural landmark and is a proud addition to Bahrain Bay," Bahrain Bay deputy chief executive Abdulla Al Doseri said.

"We have worked alongside the developer and their architects in a timely schedule following the highest standards that conform to our masterplan.

"With the utilities infrastructure now in place, the United Tower can plug in to avail the water, electricity and district cooling facilities without delay. "We look forward to steady progress in completing the remaining works and eagerly anticipate the scheduled opening later this year," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
