BMTS wins top award for Trust Tower lighting system

An innovative sun-tracking and integrated lighting management system implemented by Bahri & Mazroei Technical Systems (BMTS) in the 382-metre high Trust Tower within the World Trade Centre Development (WTCD) - Abu Dhabi project, has won the global Dali Application Award for 2014.

Esam R Al Mazroei, managing director of the Bahri & Mazroei Group, received the international award from Gordon Routledge, a jury member of Dali Award, at Light+Building Exhibition, the world's largest trade fair for lighting and building solutions, held at Messe Frankfurt in Germany.

Dali is the global standard for professional digital lighting and lighting control systems seamlessly linking different manufacturers thereby creating highest benchmark for energy savings, occupancy comfort, compatibility and flexibility.
Specified by the International Electro-technical Commission, the standardized worldwide Dali test system delivers unparalleled performance, easy installation/maintenance, maximum control/flexibility for building owners to achieve highest energy saving and optimal life cycle cost. Tailor-made for modern lighting solutions, Dali offers easy planning, lower costs and interoperability. It is the most flexible and reliable control system for innovative lighting solutions, said a statement.

The award is recognition of the Middle East’s largest-of-its-kind innovative lighting system designed, supplied and installed by BMTS at the Trust Tower. The project is aimed to harvesting solar energy and maximising the use of natural light within the infrastructure, said the statement.

Al Mazroei said: "It is a great feeling to bring the global industry award to the Middle East region through our innovative and sustainable lighting solutions at the redevelopment of Abu Dhabi Central Market, the ambitious Abu Dhabi World Trade Centre Development.
