Jassim Transport inks Qatar project deal

Kuwait, April 9, 2014

Jassim Transport & Stevedoring Company (JTC), a diversified business entity with interests in Ports, Contract Logistics, Equipment Leasing and Power Rental, has entered into an agreement with Chicago Maintenance & Construction Company for the maintenance of a 4MW power project in Qatar.

The agreement marks a strategic expansion for JTC Power Rental outside Kuwait, its base market, said the company in a statement.

Over the years, JTC has established itself as a market leader in the temporary power solutions industry in Kuwait, based on its strong focus on customer satisfaction, driven by “zero interruption” power supply and high quality service, it added.

As per the deal, JTC will manage the entire power project at the construction site, from design and load calculations, to installation and commissioning, regular operations, and maintenance.

The installation will power the entire site, spread over an area of 43,100 sq m, with JTC’s premium power rental service ensuring smooth and uninterrupted supply of power round the clock.

JTC Group general manager Adel Kohari described the agreement as a major milestone for the organization, highlighting its expanding geographic footprint.

"Over the years, we have built a strong reputation in the Kuwait power rental market, backed by our proven track-record of high standards of customer service, reliability and efficiency," he noted.

"We are looking at more opportunities to further expand our business in Qatar and other GCC countries. Our proven competencies and customer service standards will serve as key differentiators that will fuel our growth and geographic expansion,” he added.

Ken Muir, the senior quantity surveyor, Chicago Maintenance & Construction, said: “JTC Power Rental’s proven track record in successfully running large projects in Kuwait and our strong existing relationship with JTC Equipment Leasing in Qatar were the major factors that led us to choose the company for this project."

"The 4MW power project is critical to the construction site, and we are confident that our partnership with JTC will help us in the smooth completion of the project,” he stated.

With its far-reaching logistics network, JTC can offer its power rental services at any location in the region, and clients are assured of uninterrupted power supply, safety, and cost effectiveness. JTC is committed to continual investment in the power rental industry and aims to expand its footprint to other countries in the Middle East.-TradeArabia News Service
