MAN Truck sees ME sales up 24pc

Dubai, November 4, 2012

MAN Truck & Bus Middle East has announced a 24 per cent rise in sales across the Middle East in the first three quarters of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011.

MAN will be demonstrating its latest range of heavy duty construction vehicles – the TGS World Wide – and the medium weight range TGM at the Big 5 Expo, the Middle East’s largest building and construction show, opening in Dubai tomorrow (November 5).

With an estimated $4.2 trillion of ongoing construction projects in the Mena region, with the UAE representing the biggest slice of that, at $698 billion according to industry estimates, MAN is capitalizing on the growth in the construction sector and estimates that the construction sector will drive the bulk of its sales for the next few years, said Markus Geyer, MAN regional head for MAN Truck & Bus Middle East & Africa.

“As a leading international supplier of commercial vehicles and transportation solutions, we see the Big 5 exhibition as a prime platform to deliver our core message of being – ‘Consistently Efficient’ with our world class, technologically innovative products on offer for our Middle East customers in the construction sector,” said Geyer.

“The Middle East region is rapidly emerging as a very strategic market for us and given the strong surge in sales that we have seen over the first two quarters of 2012, we expect to maintain our momentum and work with our network of importers and MAN staff across the region to deliver a world class value proposition backed by a good service delivery team, customer oriented mind-set, and an innovative brand heritage,” he added.

TGS and TGM are the premium ranges from MAN Truck & Bus, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of transport vehicles. The TGS WW range is part of the manufacturer’s Trucknology Generation, famous for their toughness and reliability and is designed especially for the toughest of operations as a semi-trailer truck tractor, rigid chassis or tipper in the Middle East, Africa, Russian States and Far East markets.

David van Graan, head of MAN Center Middle East and vice president Sales and Marketing, said: “We are keen to showcase our superior ranges of construction trucks that have been widely recognised for delivering a high level of driver and passenger comfort and safety, efficient and economical fuel consumption, high performance in difficult terrain, superior payload and on-road performance.”

“Given the changing customer needs, we are upgrading the skills of our entire team to be real transport consultants who can demonstrate the benefits of Trucknology to deliver tangible benefits from a TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) perspective,” he added.

MAN Truck & Bus will display two models from the TGS and one from the TGM range at the show.

One of the two MAN TGS is the MAN TGS 33.360 6x4 BB-WW Chassis with Concrete Mixer, 400 litre fuel tank adapted fully for Middle East conditions, spacious M-cab with A/C, heavy duty air and fuel filters, raised air intake and exhaust system.

Also on show will be the TGS 33.440 6x6 BBS-WW Tractor head with a 600 litre aluminium fuel tank adapted fully for Middle East conditions, visco fan with high cooling output, spacious M-cab with A/C and tires suitable for driving in off-road conditions.

The MAN TGM 18.240 4x4 BB with Cargo and Crane is representing the medium weight range. This vehicle offers the ideal transport solution of palletized goods to construction sites where the vehicle has the ability to load and unload its self in both, on-road and off-road conditions, a company statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
