Bahrain will set up warehouses to stock large quantities of cement, to avert a repeat of the crisis that has crippled the country's construction industry.

Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa issued the order at yesterday's cabinet meeting.

Moreover, contacts will be stepped up with cement-exporting countries to ensure enough supplies of construction materials to cater to rising demand.

On the Premier's recent visit to Hidd Industrial Zone, the cabinet hailed the current boom in industrial and development projects.

Efforts of the private sector to promote Bahraini human resources by investing in industrial schemes were also praised.-TradeArabia News Service
