Bahrain Bourse kicks off 2nd edition of CMA programme
MANAMA, February 8, 2022
Bahrain Bourse (BHB), a self-regulated multi-asset marketplace, has announced the kick-off of the second edition of the Capital Markets Apprenticeship (CMA) Programme.
The programme successfully hosted 8 interns out of more than 247 applicants.
The Capital Markets Apprenticeship Programme is an on-the-job training programme aimed at Bahraini graduates looking to develop practical experience in the Capital Markets Sector, and it stems directly from Bahrain Bourse’s belief in the necessity of fostering investor education and instilling financial literacy across all age groups.
Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, said: “Following a successful first edition of the Capital Markets Apprenticeship Programme last year, we are pleased to announce the second edition of the programme, in which we will further strengthen Bahrain Bourse’s entrepreneurial spirit in cultivating financial literacy amongst the Kingdom’s youth, and their knowledge of Bahrain’s Capital Markets and the Capital Markets sector more broadly.”
“At Bahrain Bourse, we are excited to support Bahrain Vision 2030's goals, which place a strong emphasis on youth empowerment through upskilling and supporting them with training opportunities to enable them to lead the future by setting new standards.
“This programme, along with our other financial literacy programmes including The Smart Investor Programme, TradeQuest, and The Investment Academy, are carefully constructed to ensure development of core skills at each age group level starting from youngsters at elementary age up until graduates,” Shaikh Khalifa added.
The programme intends to merge the educational and practical components through a six-month period in which selected individuals will work as full-time interns across Bahrain Bourse and Bahrain Clear, securing advanced training in trading skills, research methods, and Capital Market financial analysis.
Furthermore, the interns will benefit from the opportunity to network with and learn from decision-makers in the capital market.
Throughout the programme's duration, interns will rotate among several directorates within Bahrain Bourse and Bahrain Clear including the following: Trading Operations, Listing and Disclosures, Marketing and Business Development, Murabaha Unit, Risk & Compliance, and Financial and Accounting Affairs.
This will allow interns to get comprehensive and diverse exposure to Bahrain Bourse and Bahrain Clear operations, as well as a thorough grasp of the Bahraini market in particular and the Capital Market Sector in general.
Additionally, the programme will provide interns with the skills necessary to pursue high-level career opportunities in the Capital Market.
In order to short-list applications, the programme is divided into three phases that assess applicants and evaluate their performance through evaluation assessments and interviews. Interns will be awarded a certificate of participation as well as an appraisal letter outlining their important characteristics for potential employers in hopes of improving their employability for prospective recruiting opportunities in the Capital Markets. – TradeArabia News Service
