Abu Dhabi non-oil foreign trade slips 13.6pc in Q1

ABU DHABI, May 30, 2018

The value of non-oil  foreign  merchandise  trade  through  Abu  Dhabi  ports decreased by 13.6 per cent  from  Dh43.9 billion in  the  first quarter of 2017 to  Dh 37.9 billion in  the  same  period of 2018, according to figures released by Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi.

This was the result  of a 21.9 per cent decrease in re-exports from Dh7.2 billion to Dh5.6 billion and a 15.1 per cent  decrease  in imports to Dh26.3 billion, while  the value of non-oil  exports increased by 5.0 per cent compared with the same period of 2017.

Total trade increased by 2.5 per cent in March 2018 compared with March 2017 due to an increase in imports by 3.8 per cent, and non-oil exports by 1.5 per cent, while the value of re-exports decreased by 2.1 per cent in the same period. – TradeArabia News Service
