Women Entrepreneurs Day marked in Bahrain

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) was recently celebrated in Bahrain at an evening tea event hosted by the co-founder of Annada and the ambassador of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Bahrain, Nada Alawi.

 Some of Bahrain’s most influential women attended the event to reconnect, engage, and discuss the active role that women play in Bahrain’s economy and prosperity.

 Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is an international day designated to celebrate pioneering businesswomen, who have actively contributed to the economy by leading and establishing businesses with innovative, creative, and strategic methods.

The WED Ambassadors are spread across 144 countries and 110 universities and seek to convene business leaders to collaborate and find solutions in areas of entrepreneurship eco-systems to empower women in business. Nada Alawi, Bahrain’s WED ambassador and the co-founder of Annada is actively engaged in multiple forums that seek to enable and empower ambitious women.

The event commenced with an inspiring discussion about the significant role of women in today’s industrial, financial, and digital - national and international markets. Furthermore, it continued with the attendees sharing their goals, success stories, and creative ideas.

Highlighting the importance of collaborations between leading women entrepreneurs for it to serve as a foundation for a business environment that flourishes with women leaders supporting and encouraging one another. A groundbreaking initiative that will inspire, enable and empower the future generations of aspiring businesswomen, entrepreneurs, and women in versatile career paths.

 “As a WED ambassador, I am honoured to be hosting an event to celebrate fellow women entrepreneurs to share our success stories and ideas, and highlight the importance of women supporting and collaborating with one another,” said Nada Alawi.

Throughout its journey, WED Ambassadors achievements include a triumph in Jordan, in which a collective of female innovators, businesswomen, and policymakers funded 500 Syrian refugee girls to attend high school.

In Oman, a WED ambassador announced an initiative to empower women and girls to use their vote against arranged marriage. India tied with the Women's Wing of the National Federation of Industries (a national trade body) to jointly host their event. And in Uruguay, a partnership with a local university offered scholarships to the girls present at the WED event. – TradeArabia News Service
