Omani insurer NLGIC to launch Kuwait operations

KUWAIT, November 4, 2017

Leading Omani insurer National Life and General Insurance (NLGIC) said it has won approval from Kuwaiti authorities to launch its operations in the country. It is the company's second foray outside the sultanate after the UAE.

NLGIC offers various products in life, general and corporate insurance and is the market leader in medical insurance. It holds a Good (B++) Financial Strength Rating from AM Best Co. and ISO 9001:2008 certification from British Standards Institute (BSI).

These ratings together give its clients and associates an assurance of it’s financial strength and a guarantee of it’s quality in systems and processes, said the top Omani insurer in its statement.

For NLGIC, which already runs its operations in the emirates, the Kuwait foray is another feather in the cap of insurance major's wide network coverage, said its top official.

The company currently has more than 190 sales/service touch points across Oman and UAE. Now Kuwait would be added to its expanding geographical reach.

"We are glad to get this opportunity to do business in Kuwait. We would like to thank the Kuwait administration as well as the Oman establishment for all the support given to us from time to time," remarked S Venkatachalam, the CEO of National Life and General Insurance.

"Kuwait is a potential market and we look forward to provide our expertise and best business practices to the people of Kuwait also and replicate our growth story," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
