DMCC in tie-up to roll out e-signature facility

DUBAI, February 19, 2017

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the authority on trade, enterprise and commodities in Dubai, UAE has partnered with US-based DocuSign to provide electronic signature (e-signature) capabilities for its Free Zone members.

The new e-signature services will be rolled out in a phased approach, in close collaboration with the UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), to ensure DMCC’s over 13,000 member companies will benefit from the service.

Phase one will allow DMCC members to use e-signatures for all employment contracts. The next phase of the programme will see DMCC launch e-signatures across all services.

Gautam Sashittal, chief executive officer, DMCC, said: “Launching and introducing e-signature capabilities will enable DMCC Free Zone member companies to conduct all their employee contract services online for the first time. We continuously innovate to ensure our members have access to products and services that are as efficient as possible.

“Our collaboration with DocuSign and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in bringing e-signature capabilities to market is a great achievement and fully aligned with our commitment to delivering a world-class customer experience for our members.”

Hamad Obaid AL Mansouri, director general, TRA said: “We work closely with government entities across UAE to support them in delivering quality and trusted services to customers. This collaboration with DMCC comes in line with TRA’s continuous efforts to enable and increase usage rates of e-services across the different sectors, consequently have positive impact on customer’s happiness. We hope that providing smart solution including e-signature will play a vital role in enhancing UAE position on international competitive index and attracting investors from different industries around the world.”

Nearly one million transactions are DocuSigned every day. On average, 84 per cent of those are completed in less than one day; 62 per cent in less than one hour; and 51 per cent in 15 minutes or less – dramatically faster than the days or weeks typically required with paper.

Mark Register, SVP of Business Development and Channels at DocuSign, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome DMCC to the DocuSign Global Trust Network of more than 250,000 companies and more than 100 million users across 188 countries. DMCC’s adoption of DocuSign will bring the power of DTM and e-signature to its 13,000 members so that they can transact business quickly, easily and securely – 100 per cent digitally – with trust and confidence.”

Ali Hosseini, managing director, NSI, who partnered with DMCC to implement the highly customised DocuSign solution, said:  “Our global clients are companies that have committed to undertaking digital transformations, and who place their utmost level of trust in these capabilities. We are pleased to work with DMCC, as we integrate their members with the 250,000 companies that trust DocuSign. We look forward to supporting their commitment to operating with greater speed, ease and security."

Based in Dubai, DMCC has grown exponentially since its formation in 2002 and today has more than 13,000 member companies with 87,500 workers and residents from over 170 countries based in its Free Zone. – TradeArabia News Service
