Union Insurance launches DomShield in UAE

Union Insurance Company, a leading provider of innovative customer-focused insurance products to individuals and organisations in the region, has launched the first-of-its-kind insurance product for domestic helpers in the UAE.
Protecting the interests of both the employer and employee, DomShield provides coverage when the privately sponsored workers are unable to perform their duties due to incidents such as hospitalisation, disappearance, refusal to work, sustaining injury in personal accident as well as loss of life, said a statement.
Abdul Muttaleb Al Jaedi, managing director and chief executive officer, said: “As we understand the vital role domestic workers play in individual households, we have developed this innovative comprehensive product to provide complete peace of mind in the event of unexpected adversities.
“DomShield was designed to protect the mutual interests of employer and worker so each of them can meet his obligations.”
The new insurance scheme will offer lump sum coverage for accidental death, repatriation costs, total or partial permanent disability and return ticket among many other benefits, said the statement.
DomeShield is available to all UAE residents who employ full-time domestic helpers from various nationalities, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
