Emirates Islamic launches mobile banking app

DUBAI, June 25, 2015

Emirates Islamic, a leading Islamic financial institution in the UAE, has launched EI World, a fun and easy way to bank on iPhones.

EI World is a first-of-its-kind mobile banking app that allows Emirates Islamic customers to conduct a range of banking transactions in a fun and engaging environment, said a statement.

The app, which is available for free download on the iTunes App store, awards users with points and tokens that can be redeemed for prizes and move up levels similar to a game, it said.

It uses a user friendly ‘home’ environment, with each room of the house offering relevant banking services. For example, navigating through the living room, customers can pay for their mobile, cable or internet bills. The kitchen section houses utility bill payments, while the garage lets customers top up their Salik account. Users can also make donations, transfers within their own accounts as well as pay for credit card bills and Nol services via the app.

Faisal Aqil, deputy chief executive officer – Consumer Wealth Management, said: “We are a bank of firsts when it comes to the latest technology. We were the first Islamic bank in the UAE to launch a mobile banking app.

“Now, with the launch of EI world, we have raised the bar even further, providing our customers a whole new way to engage with us and avail fast, hassle-free banking services.”

“Empowering our customers and providing them with convenient ways to bank is a key objective at Emirates Islamic. As the United Arab Emirates further adopts digital solutions for government services and across different industries, we have seen increased customer demand for on-the-go solutions that match busy lifestyles. We are certain that our customers will appreciate the benefits and embrace EI World as the preferred way to bank,” concluded Aqil. - TradeArabia News Service
