Sharjah free zone team at World Chambers Congress

SHARJAH, June 13, 2015

A high-level delegation from Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (Saif Zone) was in Torino, Italy for an international forum for leaders from the chambers of commerce across the globe.

The team joined the ninth World Chambers Congress, which concluded last week at the Lingotto Congress Centre in Torino, Italy.
 
Saif Zone officials said its booth attracted a large number of chamber directors in addition to Vincenzo Ilotte, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Torino and Peter Mihok, the chair of the ICC World Chamber Federation.
 
Mayor of Torino Piero Fassino also visited the stand and praised the Sharjah free zone’s initiatives and its exceptional growth in the past few years.

Themed “Community, identity and vision”, the three-day conference had attracted over 1600 chambers of commerce from over 108 countries.  
 
It addressed the current global trends affecting chambers of commerce and their respective communities: from economic recovery to climate change and other pressing issues

"As the only international forum for leaders from the chambers of commerce of different countries, this event is perfect to network, discuss potential business tie-ups with businessmen and get an insight into the best-practice experiences and new areas of innovation in the world of business from the distinguished leaders themselves”, remarked Saud Al Mazrouei, the director of HFZA and Saif Zone.
 
“Our free zones’ deliver beyond expectations and we were there to showcase our top-notch facilities to the diverse group of investors. We also hope to bolster the Sharjah-Italian trade relations in the process,” said Al Mazrouei, who led the delegation.
 
Currently, HFZA has over 6200 companies - 56 of which are Italian and Saif Zone has around 6700 companies of while only 86 are Italian.

"The bilateral trade between Italy and UAE is growing steadily and we hope to see this growth translated into an increase in the number of Italian industrial companies in Saif Zone and HFZA," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
