Tamkeen signs jobs accord with Citibank Bahrain

MANAMA, June 2, 2015

Bahrain’s labour fund Tamkeen has signed an agreement with Citibank Bahrain to employ at least 70 Bahrainis.

The agreement is the latest under Tamkeen's Employment Support Programme, which provides customised solutions to enable companies to fulfil their employment needs with qualified Bahrainis, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Tamkeen will support Citibank Bahrain to recruit and train young Bahraini university graduates to work in the Citiphone call centre at the bank.

“The Employment Support Programme is a great example of Tamkeen's collaborative approach to private sector growth and economic development,” Tamkeen's vice-president for human capital development Amal Al Kooheji said.

“By engaging directly with companies, we can offer bespoke solutions and provide superior service with tangible value to our customers,” he added.

“Our long-term vision is to groom talented Bahraini nationals hence we are looking at candidates with strong educational background to be able to offer career development and growth in their professional sphere,” Citibank Bahrain HR head Nacira Ferdjoukh said.

“Tamkeen is a key partner to assist us in meeting the above goals.

“Over the years, Tamkeen programmes evolved towards a more customised approach to cater to the changing dynamics of the private sector,” she added.

To-date, the Employment Support Programme enabled the recruitment and training of 7,800 Bahrainis in a range of sectors. - TradeArabia News Service
