ADIB sheds light on investment trends at seminars

Abu Dhabi, February 25, 2015

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank’s (ADIB) Private Banking Group recently held a series of seminars for its high net worth customers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai, in line with its ongoing commitment to provide its customers with insights into regional and international investment trends.

The seminars aimed at providing customers with the knowledge to understand diverse investment options and make effective investment decisions in a rapidly changing environment, said a statement.

During the seminar, the Investment Advisory Team at ADIB shared the investment outlook for 2015 which included the latest themes shaping the investment world, it said.

Mohamed Azab, head of private banking, said: “Reaching out to our customers and offering them our insights into the global investment landscape is central to our mission as financial advisors.

“We believe in creating a long term relationship with our customers based on providing them investment solutions that have been carefully evaluated by our team of experts and in line with our shared values of ethical banking.”

Shahzad Ali, head of Investment Advisory at ADIB’s Private Banking Group, advised customers to consider adopting a broad and diversified investment strategy in the coming year including attractively valued UAE stocks, especially those with high-quality dividends, and also corporate sukuk, in their investment portfolios.

“With the varying growth outlooks of major developed and emerging markets likely to lead to different policy approaches, investors should brace for some volatility this year,” he said.

“But there are likely some attractive opportunities, not least in the relatively attractive UAE equity markets.”

“The recent sell-off in UAE equities mean Dubai and Abu Dhabi shares appear to be at much fairer levels and cheaper than their emerging market peers, with some growth prospects. In an environment of low rates and falling oil prices, high quality, dividend-yielding stocks present an attractive investment proposition,” said Ali.

The investment outlook seminar is part of series of events that the Private Banking Group will be organising this year in line with its  strategy to update and educate customers on investment trends, the statement added. - TradeArabia News Service
