Qatar witnesses lowest bank credit growth

Qatar October credit growth lowest since 2006

DOHA, November 30, 2014

Bank credit growth in Qatar slowed to 6.1 per cent year-on-year in October, the lowest rate since at least 2006, from 12.4 per cent in the previous month, central bank data showed on Sunday.

Money supply (M2) growth accelerated to 13.3 per cent from 8.6 per cent at the end of September. Non-resident deposits jumped 33.2 per cent on an annual basis to 37 billion riyals ($10.2 billion). - Reuters
