SME Beyond Borders... move to drive local business

Dubai event to help SMEs get into global arena

DUBAI, November 23, 2014

Getting local businesses into the premier league and helping them compete with state-of-the-art economic insights and market data will form the agenda for an upcoming event for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Dubai, UAE.

SME Beyond Borders - Global Models for Success will be held on November 30 and December 1 at Madinat Arena.

Hosted by National Bank of Abu Dhabi, and supported by the Dubai Economic Council, the event is set to be the biggest, best SME conference of 2014, a statement said.

The event keynote address will be delivered by Hani R Al Hamli, secretary general of Dubai Economic Council (DEC).

Global speakers will share expert insights and previously unpublished research, joining local captains of industry and government representatives. SME Beyond Borders brings together the leading architects of change and gives a comprehensive roadmap for SME strategies, the statement said.

SME Beyond Borders will address the powerful topics that matter to SMEs and can otherwise be stumbling blocks to effective growth - helping businesses boost profits and turnover.

The sessions provide vital building blocks for every shape and style of SME and include a focus on issues such as women’s empowerment in the region and how to work most effectively with banks and financial institutions.

On day two, the Moody’s Banking Masterclass, for example, promises to give keynote guidance to aspiring SMEs looking to get critical business finance, boosting their chances of first-time success.

Dominic De Sousa, founder and CEO of organisers CPI Media Group, said: “For nearly a decade, we have created events looking to provide practical value to the SME community.”

“Now, with the help of valued sponsors such as National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Etisalat, we are able to raise the bar to address the international challenges and help SMEs reach fresh, rewarding global markets and play to their true strengths,” De Sousa added. – TradeArabia News Service
