Standard Chartered appoints new CFO

MANAMA, September 23, 2014

Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain has appointed Shaikha Tareef as its new chief financial officer (CFO).

Tareef will be responsible for the implementation of the bank's overall financial strategy, cost management and ensuring the implementation of effective financial controls, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

"We are proud that Shaikha is setting the tone for two firsts within the bank, as she is the first Bahraini and the first female to ever become country CFO in the bank since 1920," chief executive Hassan Jarrar said.

A member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant UK, Tareef, joined Standard Chartered Bahrain in January last year as senior manager of finance risk and control. - TradeArabia News Service
