Oman budget surplus hits $1.5bn in Jan-May

Oman's government budget surplus reached 582.9 million rials ($1.5 billion) in January-May compared with a deficit of 110.4 million rials a year ago, provisional government data showed.
    
Analysts polled by Reuters in April predicted that Oman would post a fiscal surplus of 1.7 per cent of gross domestic product in 2014.
        
Oman, which based its 2014 budget on a projected oil price of $85 per barrel, sees an expenditure of 13.5 billion rials and a deficit of 1.8 billion rials this year.-Reuters
