Kuwait Jan inflation hits 4-month high

Kuwait recorded a four-month high inflation rate of 2.6 per cent in January according to statistics released following January consumer price data on Sunday.
Housing costs, which account for 29 percent of consumer expenses, rose 3.6 percent year-on-year and remained flat month-on-month in January.
Prices of food and beverages, which account for over 18 percent of the basket, jumped 4.2 percent on an annual basis and 0.8 percent from the previous month.
Analysts polled by Reuters in January expected average inflation of 3.5 percent in 2014 and 3.7 percent in 2015, up from 2.7 percent in 2013. – Reuters
