StanChart introduces new Titanium credit card

Dubai, February 27, 2013

Leading UK-based bank Standard Chartered has announced the launch of a new Titanium MasterCard credit card for customers in the UAE.

The card comes with first-in-the-market cashback offers on the everyday spend of the customers, a statement from the bank said. Customers can enjoy up to 10 per cent cash back on all supermarket purchases, 10 per cent cash back on utility bills as well as school fee payments.

Combined with these market-leading cashback offers, customers will also benefit from a 50 per cent discount on all their movie ticket purchases at VOX Cinemas in the UAE as well as discounts at hundreds of dining and entertainment establishments across the country.

The breadth and depth of these cashback and discount offers place the Standard Chartered Titanium MasterCard credit card as the most value-packed credit card in the market today, the statement said. Moreover, these cashback and discount offers are not time-bound campaign-based offers, and will make up the base benefits and features of the card.

As an added benefit, chip and PIN technology is introduced for increased payment security, it said. Globally, more than 20 million terminals are chip and PIN-compliant and almost all merchants in the UAE accept chip and PIN cards.

Khalid El Gibaly, regional head of consumer banking, UAE and Middle East, Standard Chartered, said: “As a leading financial institution, Standard Chartered is committed to consistently providing products and services that uniquely meet the everyday banking and spending needs of our customers.”

“Our new Titanium MasterCard credit card is specially designed to achieve this, and also provides substantial savings on essential needs and lifestyle spends. In this way, customers can be confident that they have the best value card on the market for their everyday requirements.”

Raghu Malhotra, division president, Middle East and North Africa, MasterCard, said: “The launch of the Standard Chartered Titanium MasterCard credit card builds on our longstanding relationship with one of the leading financial institutions in the region.”

“This product promises to add genuine value to cardholders by introducing exceptional banking rewards and priceless lifestyle privileges, becoming the perfect every day companion.”

Customers who apply online for the new credit card are eligible for an exclusive online offer of an airline voucher worth Dh750 ($204.13) upon meeting the offer terms.

Standard Chartered has been operating in the UAE since 1958 and operates the largest distribution network among international banks with 11 branches, five electronic banking units and more than 130 ATMs and CDMs. – TradeArabia News Service
