Barclays, a major global financial services provider, has launched its Premier League Platinum Credit Card in the UAE.

The credit card boasts an array of rewards including the chance to win return flights and accommodation for two to the UK to watch a Barclays Premier League football game.

Other features of the card include unlimited access to the Marhaba Lounge at Dubai International Airport. Card customers can claim 50 per cent cash back on ‘Any Ticket, Any Movie, Any Cinema’ purchased across the UAE.

Furthermore, cardholders get ‘Buy One Get One Free’ offers from selected locations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai at various entertainment and sporting outlets including Yas Links, Abu Dhabi and Aquaventure, Atlantis, the Palm Dubai.

“The Barclays Premier League Credit Card reflects the passion shared by many of our customers for football. Not only do cardholders have the chance to win tickets for a Barclays Premier League game and watch one of the top teams play, but they can also make the most of a number of sporting benefits on offer,” said Mark Elliott, director of Sales, Barclays UAE.

The card also offers a flexible rewards programme through which cardholders can earn one reward point for every Dh 1 spent. Points can be redeemed for shopping mall vouchers and for airline tickets on ‘Any Airline, Any Destination, Anytime’.

In addition, any items bought using the card are covered by 90 days purchase protection against accidental damage and an extended warranty covers purchases for one year from the expiry date of the original manufacturer’s warranty for a maximum of three years.

The first ever global Barclays Premier League Trophy Tour kicked off in the Middle East between March and May before heading to Hong Kong for the Barclays Asia Trophy in July. The trophy will then travel to North America and Africa during the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons.-TradeArabia News Service
