Ajman Bank deploys QR code technology

Ajman, September 22, 2010

Ajman Bank, a leading Islamic commercial bank, recently started integrating the Quick Response (QR) code technology into their banking services.

Ajman Bank is the first bank in the Gulf to incorporate the QR code technology, which is growing in popularity around the world, a statement said.

The bank said it aims to educate its customers on the QR code capabilities and purpose through its campaigns.

The modern technology will appear within a variety of the bank’s communication materials such as its business cards, ATMs, and accounts and credit card statements.

QR is two-dimensional barcode that consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern against a white background. Any information encoded can be text, URL, telephone number or other data, and can be read by any phone that has a camera and a built in or a downloadable scanner.

“The integration of QR technology will give Ajman Bank customers more opportunity to take advantage of our growing array of services,” said Mubashar H Khokhar, CEO of Ajman Bank.

“This emerging technology will allow our customer to access bank information both quickly and effectively, helping to bring people closer to the Ajman Bank brand,” he added.

In order to promote the service, the bank is holding a new raffle draw for participants, which will reward 10 lucky winners with an iPad.

The raffle campaign will consist of several draws taking place at different locations that will be announced by Ajman Bank. The coming draw will take place at Ajman City Center on September 25. – TradeArabia News Service
